Our Derby Originals Classic Horse Polar Fleece Keyhole Quarter Sheet or Exercise Rug was designed to provide a comfortable, lightweight winter riding option for riders who wish to keep their horses comfortable under saddle and help warm up and loosen up the muscles and prevent stiffness. These rugs can be worn around the saddle skirt, or over the rider's legs to help prevent chills and keep both you and your horse comfortable at the same time.

CAN BE USED IN MULTIPLE WAYS - our exercise rugs are designed to either fit under the saddle and be used to solely warm the horse, or over the rider's legs to prevent chills during cold weather rides.

MULTIPLE COLORS AND SIZES AVAILABLE - our quarter sheets are available in two sizes, Average Horse and Large Horse, and in the elegant colors Hunter Green and Navy Blue.

Dried mud, hair, hay, and other debris should be regularly brushed off your blanket. A stiff dandy brush often works best for this. Keeping your blanket clean helps extend its lifespan, as well as help to keep your horse clean and happy. You can also use a damp, soapy rag to remove mud/debris and then wipe your blanket dry. Fleece blankets should only be hand washed and never machine washed. All removable parts should be removed before washing, all velcro straps velcroed together, and your blanket should only be washed in a detergent made for use with horse blankets, or gentle animal-safe cleaners. When washing, use cool water and hand wash gently. Do not use fabric softener with any of our blankets as it will damage their waterproofing and breathing abilities and prevent the blanket from wicking water and sweat off your horse. All of our blankets should be air-dried or line-dried, never put in a dryer. If your blanket becomes nicked or torn, the blanket should immediately be sewn or patched to prevent further damage from occurring.

Sizing Information

These quarter sheets are available in two sizes: Average Horse and Large Horse. We recommend our Average Horse size for most 14-16hh equines, and our Large Horse size for larger horses and Warmblood types between 15-17hh. Our large size is also great for average sized horses with long backs, or for riders who would like a larger keyhole through which to fit their saddle or to fit over their legs.
